Dorrie International has just announced the availability of a new urethane-based, embossed decorative film: Dorrie DF™, designed to be used in place of embossed TPVs. It offers excellent weatherablity and permanent, thermally stable embossing. Stain-resistant and impervious to common process oils, this environmentally friendly product contains no PVC and eliminates the need to store additional resins or adhesives.

Dorrie DF is intended for use in a variety of interior or exterior automotive applications, including inner door seals, interior or exterior door belt molding and in-mold decoration. It is competitive in price to textured/embossed TPVs. Costs are further reduced because no secondary processes are required.

Versatile Dorrie DF is available in a variety of custom colors and is furnished in ready-to-use sheets or as custom-slit tape on rolls. A leather texture is standard, but other textures and even a smooth gloss finish are options. Dorrie DF is available with a choice of polymeric backings suitable for bonding to EPDM, TPOs, TPVs, ABS and Polycarbonate.
